Make an Appointment
Appointment Requests
Please note that in order to direct you to the clinician who will best meet your needs you will be asked a number of questions by the reception staff. Please do your best to answer their questions.
For routine appointment requests we encourage you to use the following link: https://accurx.nhs.uk/patient-initiated/C88086/flow/medical-request. It is easier to do this as you do not have to queue on hold waiting to request an appointment. The link should not be used for urgent or life threatening issues. We will respond to these requests within 2 working days.
Please note that responses are looked at during working hours, if you need to speak to someone urgently when we are closed, you should call 111 or 999 if you consider your situation life threatening.
Urgent Appointment Requests
To request an urgent same-day telephone consultation you should telephone the surgery between the hours 8.00 am and 9.00 am. Advise the receptionist that you are unwell and would like to request emergency appointment.
Routine Appointment Requests
These appointments last 15 minutes and are for one patient for one problem. To discuss more than one issue ask reception to book you a double appointment. This may mean that you are waiting longer to be seen.
To book “on the day” please call the surgery when the lines open at 08:00. These appointments are allocated on a first come, first served basis. They have usually all been allocated by 09:00.
Our clinicians can book evening or weekend appointments at other practices across the city for patients who need to be seen by a GP or nurse when this practice is closed.
Advance/Follow up Appointment
These advance appointments are for patients who need to plan appointments around their work rotas etc. and patients that need to be followed up by a GP with an ongoing problem. These appointments are available via our online booking system.
Home Visits
The doctors can carry out home visits for patients who are housebound and who are more vulnerable.
We ask you to call before 11:00 am to arrange this so that we can assess the need for a visit the same day. Home visits will normally be made between 12:00 - 15:00 pm.
You may only request a home visit if you are housebound or are too ill to visit the practice. Your GP will only visit you at home if they think that your medical condition requires it and will also decide how urgently a visit is needed. Please bear this in mind and be prepared to provide suitable details to enable the doctor to schedule house calls
You can also be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP. You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.
